Guest instructor Julia Norton schooled us in earth, plant, mineral, synthetic and animal pigments (cochineal red is made with bugs!). With Julia's instruction, we mixed the pigments with gum arabic and water to create our own watercolors. We painted and experimented, and then packed colors to go so we could continue to create at home.
