about

Cottage Courses are artist-led workshops designed to share unique skills, techniques, and creative practices within the community. Founded in 2022, these all-level classes feature a rotating roster of artists and instructors, each bringing their own approach to learning and making. Every course grows out of the instructor’s own practice, offering participants a glimpse into their ideas and techniques in a relaxed, welcoming setting. The goal is to inspire creativity, experimentation, and new ways of making while bringing people together and building community along the way.

Cottage Courses are nomadic. Workshops are often hosted at Troutbeck in Amenia, NY, but new locations and creative spaces are always being explored. Dates, times, and locations are listed in each course description.
