Mini Quilt Workshop: Bear Claw Pattern | Saturday Jan 13, 1-5pm

Join us for an afternoon of quilting! Using the Bear Claw pattern, we will go over all steps involved in making a quilt in this one day course. We will be cutting pieces for our pattern, piecing the quilt top together using a sewing machine, and binding the quilt by hand sewing.

All ages and skill levels are welcome for this course, but keep in mind there are a lot of sharp things involved for tiny hands (Children must be accompanied by an adult). All materials and tools will be provided, but if you have special fabric you would like to incorporate, we welcome you to bring it!

Natalie Baxter is an artist working primarily with fabric to create soft sculptures and quilted wall hangings that playfully push controversial social and political issues. Most recently, she has been incorporating found and discarded domestic fabric and objects in her work. Natalie received her MFA from the University of Kentucky and her BA in Studio Art from The University of the South; Sewanee. Her work has been exhibited at galleries, museums, and fairs internationally. After frequenting the Wassaic Project residency, she moved her home, studio and family to Wassaic, NY.
